Where Will Your Cargo Bike Take You?
The BikeCarGo Explorer isn't just a carrier; it’s your ticket to exploring beyond the local bike path. Whether you’re heading to the coast for a family holiday with your Riese & Müller Load or transporting a Bullitt for a cross-country trip, we help you bridge the gap between city life and the great outdoors.
Our community is already taking their front-loaders further—now it's your turn.
Transport Your Cargo Bike—Without the Van or Trailer
Traditionally, moving a 30kg+ cargo bike required a van or a trailer. Designed by a Chartered Mechanical Engineer, the BikeCarGo Explorer changes the game. Our innovative Ground-Loading workflow and Hitch-Lift System allow you to secure your bike at ground level and transition it to your roof rack with ease and control.
By leveraging your bike’s natural stability into a secure three-point connection, the Explorer delivers confidence on the road. Compatible with all roof racks, it finally makes transporting bikes like the Riese & Müller Load or Bullitt possible for any vehicle.

Can you use it on a small car like a VW polo?
Can you use it on a small car like a VW polo?
Regarding the VW Polo, there should be no issue using the Explorer. Most Polos have a dynamic roof load limit of 60kg (though I recommend double-checking the manual or Google for your specific model year). If your roof rack has a load limit of 60kg or greater, your total capacity will be 60kg. See here for more details on roof load limits.
It is essential to stay below these limits for safety. For reference, the bike is stripped down with the Explorer attached.:
- Load4 75: Approx. 40kg
- Bullitt: Approx. 33kg.
Are cargo bikes too heavy to transport by car?
Are cargo bikes too heavy to transport by car?
Transporting a cargo bike is traditionally difficult due to weight and length, often requiring a van or trailer. However, BikeCarGo offers the Explorer, a specialized roof-mounted carrier engineered specifically for heavy front-loaders. This allows owners of Riese & Müller, Bullitt, and similar models to securely transport their bikes on standard vehicle roof racks without exceeding weight limits.
